1992: A Break

Dan covers the arrival of the American military in Mogadishu. It’s a circus-like event: The Marines "take" the beach in the middle of the night as a zillion journalists, including all of the major TV news anchors, await them. Despite the ridiculousness of the scene, the Americans nonetheless bring much needed food with them and their speedy distribution of it curtails the famine.
