Creative Visions Foundation Mission:

The Creative Visions Foundation supports people, especially the young, who use media, technology and the arts to create awareness of social, environmental or humanitarian issues and effect positive change in local and global communities. Our mission is focused on five categories which we encourage young people to make a difference:

PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT:

CVF currently has four primary projects up and running that support our mission of using media, technology and the arts to create positive, social change and are in the development stage of several others. These four are currently being implemented all over the globe.

• www.daneldon.org , the Dan Eldon traveling exhibitions, JOURNEY: Images of War, Celebrations of Peace. These exhibits of Dan Eldon’s works and accompanying interactive, educational materials are shown in museums, galleries, universities and public spaces. CVF ensures the conservation of Dan Eldon’s artwork for future outreach, exhibitions and events.

• www.Oneglobaltribe.org, is an online volunteer initiative that activates young people to “think globally and act locally” by engaging in high impact, educational, volunteer and fundraising activities through the use of media, technology and the arts. OGT sponsors and provides curricula to teachers all over the world and in the Creative Visions and Pearson Foundation sponsored Summer Institute focused on video activism.

• www.globalyouthfund.org, The Global Youth Fund is a revolutionary program that guides youth in running their own development fund- the first that is managed by youth through a globally democratic process.

• www.videovolunteers.org, Video Volunteers enables filmmakers to create videos for non-profit organizations in the developing world at little or no cost to the organization. Video Volunteers takes advantage of low cost digital technologies to make videos for fundraising, advocacy or educational purposes.

GRANTS:

CVF awards seed money to young artists, photographers, journalists, and filmmakers in order to cultivate public awareness of social, environmental, or humanitarian issues.

YOUTH OUTREACH:

We educate and inspire young people to become socially aware and responsible by speaking engagements, screenings, seminars, tools and resources to make a difference in their local and global communities.

MEDIA MATRIX:

We serve a resource and clearinghouse of information, fiscal sponsorship, networking and support, to emerging leaders and leaders who are dedicated and making conscious media.

DAN ELDON OVERSEAS PRESS CLUB AWARD:

In association with the Overseas Press Club of America, Creative Visions Foundation awards an annual scholarship to an outstanding young journalist pursuing a career in international journalism.
