July 2004 | The Dan Eldon Traveling Exhibit

The Dan Eldon Traveling Exhibit made a stop in Taos, New Mexico. During the short stay, approximately 900 people, including school classes and youth groups, visited. Many viewers returned to absorb the full impact of the exhibit and all were inspired and touched by Dan’s life. The exhibit was sponsored by Gayle Montgomery’s Full Circle Studio and funded by a grant from the Taos County Commissioners.

The opening reception was phenomenal! Eighteen local restaurants prepared and donated crowd-pleasing appetizers. Kathy Eldon, Gayle Montgomery and Lyn Rosati gave brief talks. Inspired by Dan’s generosity, Lynn has created a “Art for Change” program where Taos locals and visitors will be asked to empty their pocket change (in the spirit of Dan) to purchase art supplies for youth groups and schools.

Bill Egsieker, a St. Louis singer-songwriter, debuted his song, “Dan’s Dreams.” The exhibit was followed by a collage journaling workshop facilitated by Gayle. Twenty local youth were selected to participate. Each received a journal, art supplies and both of the Dan Eldon books (“The Journey is the Destination” and “The Art of Life”).

Gayle Montgomery still donates 30% of all proceeds of her “Safari Series,” based on Dan’s philosophy that “Life is a Safari” to the Creative Visions Foundation. Please visit her at The Full Circle Studio.
