Caroline Pitt

My name is Caroline and I am a South African seventeen year old, currently living in Singapore. I moved here at the age of ten, and within the past seven years have travelled extensively across Africa, Asia, Europe, America, Australia and New Zealand. I feel privileged to live where I do and to be able to have experienced the amount that I have in such a short space of time.

I was never truly inspired by a specific person, but found my way into photography as it was the most appropriate way of expressing the diverse cultures and scenery that I was continuously absorbing on my holidays. After picking up Dan's book in the school library however, I was immediately in awe of his work and found that I could relate on some level, being rooted in Africa and having been exposed to the world from all angles.

I completed my photography GCSE's last year and used Dan as the main inspiration in the majority of my work that I presented. He was the first artist who I could both relate to and admire with such ease.
