Living To Tell The Story

Posted by on Jun 25, 2013 in Dan Eldon Legacy

In July 1993 Reuters photojournalist Dan Eldon was killed in Somalia while covering the nation’s civil war. Aged 22, he was stoned and beaten to death alongside three of his colleagues. They died trying to tell the story of a country ravaged by conflict.

Twenty years later, his mother Kathy Eldon (author of In The Heart Of Life) has launched the Living To Tell The Story campaign, through Creative Visions – the foundation she and her daughter Amy Eldon Turteltaub created in Dan’s honor.

The goal is to celebrate, commemorate and support storytellers of all kinds – writers, journalists, photographers, artists and activists – who shine a light on social causes at home and abroad.

For more information about the campaign, which will include film screenings and a supper club series, go to DanEldon.org

Kathy Eldon’s memoir, In the Heart of Life, will be published by HarperOne in October 2013.  For more information and press inquiries, please contact Suzanne.Wickham@harpercollins.com
