Tembisa, Joburg’s second largest township (Soweto is first) has several million people who have sanitation and electricity. But last week we shot on the margins, under the power lines, where people have almost nothing. So here are my reflections on morning lattes after experiencing such extreme poverty. We don’t have to travel to help people help themselves. And it feels good to know that we have left even one life better because we have lived. (Thank you Ralph Waldo Emerson.)
